Our broad management experience, innovative vision, and close ties to all facets of the energy industry keep us in advance of trends and technologies. Members of our senior management hold graduate and postgraduate technical degrees from leading universities — including Stanford University, and the University of California.
John D. Sullivan, President and CEO
John has 40 years of product management and engineering research and development experience in the energy and aerospace industries, and has been with ALZETA since 1989. John holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Davis, and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He has served on the American Boiler Manufacturers Association Board of Directors and as a member of the Advisory Board for the UC Davis Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
David F. Bartz, Engineering Manager
Dave has been a member of the ALZETA team since 1990. Dave has more than 25 years of combustion and heat transfer systems related experience and is responsible for ALZETA’s new product development. Dave holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
Veronica A. La Pierre, Corporate Controller
Veronica brings over 20 years of experience with accounting and operational activities. As the Corporate Controller, Veronica is responsible for all finance, accounting, administrative and human resource functions in the company. Veronica holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business.
Chauncey Hayashida, Production Manager
Chauncey is a recent welcome addition to ALZETA and is responsible for managing ALZETA's production team and facilities. He has has over 10 years experience managing all aspects of product manufacturing and is the key driver of production processes with related facilities, safety, and delivery issues. He is very familiar with all ALZETA services, products and technologies including Duratherm™, Pyrocore™, CSB™ systems, EDGE™/QR™ products, and various OEM burners and systems.
John E. Kendall, Chairman, Board of Directors
John joined the Board in July 2006 and was appointed Chairman. John oversees information technology for Container Applications International, an asset management company in San Francisco. He is a board member of Adelante Foundation, a micro-credit non-profit organization in Honduras. He has degrees in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley and Theology from Fuller Seminary.

Thomas R. Kendall, Member, Board of Directors
Tom currently serves as the Chief of the US Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District Planning Branch. He has held various positions with the Corps District since 1984 including Chief of the Water Resources and Engineering branches as well as the Planning/Engineering Division. He is a registered Civil Engineer in California and received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He has served as a Director for the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (California Chapter 1989-1995, National Treasurer 1994 – 2003) and as Scouting Executive Officer for the Corps-Bechtel sponsored Engineering Explorer Post (1992-2006).
Dan Dahle, Member, Board of Directors
Dan is Director of Cloud Strategic Planning in Intel Labs. His team’s charter is to reliably move Intel Labs’ cloud communications and trust-based technologies, from research concept to business impact for Intel and its customers. His experience at Intel includes business & market development for mobile networking, security and services enablement research along with software-based networking. Dan joined Intel in 1998 after running a technology marketing consulting firm and 10+ years at AT&T. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science & Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as an MBA from Indiana University.
George Jaquette, Member, Board of Directors
George has led engineering teams at startups for most of his career, most recently at Tidemark, Marketo, and Intacct. He has also managed teams at Intuit and Silicon Graphics, and worked at McKinsey & Company after business school. George has served on a number of non-profit boards, and has acted as treasurer for several. George earned a Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Masters in management from MIT.
