Ultra-low NOx burners are required in many areas of California and several other states. ALZETA’s burner technologies can deliver less than 5 ppm NOx, corrected to 3% O2, in most commercial and industrial heating applications. Key to achieving reliable and repeatable results is our premixed, surface-stabilized combustion technology that provides a uniform reaction and flame temperature.
Flame temperatures are minimized by operating lean (more dilution per CFM of fuel). This may be achieved by simply increasing combustion air, or diluting with flue gas (flue gas recirculation, FGR) or another inert gas. While other burners may encounter combustion instability at the lean conditions needed for ultra-low NOx, ALZETA’s surface-stabilized combustion allows for complete and uniform reactions. Heat transfer remains effective within the furnace or combustion chamber, flame length is short and predictable, and CO emissions remain low.
